Support us

Our service is managed as a charity and it wouldn’t exist without the kind support from others be it financial or otherwise. This support enables us to reduce the harm caused by rape and sexual abuse to people in and around Kilmarnock. For this support we are extremely grateful.

If you would like to support our service there are different ways you can do this. The three main ways we need support are from sponsors, donations and volunteers.

Sponsor our service

We have created a section of our website dedicated to thank our sponsors for their kind support. To view this section or if you would like to become a sponsor and want to find out how to do this go to our sponsors page.

Make a donation

If you would like to make a donation to help support our service and to support people affected by rape and sexual abuse please phone or email us using the details on our contact page.

Volunteering

Our service welcomes volunteering support, particularly from within the Ayrshire community.

Do you have skills, talents and/or experience that you could share in order to sustain and take forward the important work undertaken by our service to support and improve the quality of life for survivors recovering from rape and sexual abuse?

The Rape Counselling and Resource Centre would love to hear from you if you are interested in volunteering to support us in a range of ways, including service provision or becoming a Charity Trustee.

If you would like more information about volunteering, becoming a Charity Trustee or fundraising please contact the Rape Counselling and Resource Centre on 01563 544 686 or email us at rcrc1@btconnect.com.

Statements of support

We have received statements of support from notable people with connections to Ayrshire. Their support for this important service really means a lot:

“Kilmarnock is blessed to have such an important welcoming centre where women and children can feel safe and supported.” – Kirsty Wark, Journalist and Broadcaster (December 2013)

“Rape is hate-crime. Sexual assault, sexual intimidation and sexual threat, exactly the same. The more survivors of attack speak out, the more things are forced to change; the very act of talking or telling makes a difference in itself, that’s why Rape Counselling and Resource Centre Kilmarnock matters so much; safe hands, compassionate listeners, their confidential support helps women and girls not only face the future, but change it.” – Janice Galloway, Author (November 2013)

“For all who are damaged by another human being, I want to say this: ‘It’s over’. To help understand and enable freedom from re-living the pain and grief of whatever trauma was committed, I commend this place of peace and support. Grief must be shared to be survived.” – Eddi Reader, Singer-songwriter (November 2013)
